Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EquiAssist LLC, an Alabama limited liability company (“EquiAssist,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the EquiAssist website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information: name, email address, password, and role (Employer or Job Seeker).
- Job Seeker information: profile details, resume or CV, work history, qualifications, certifications, location preferences, and the contents of applications and messages.
- Employer information: business name, contact details, listing content, and billing contact.
- Payment information: when you purchase a posting, payment is processed by our third party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not store full payment card numbers. We receive limited transaction details, such as a confirmation and the last four digits of the card.
- Communications: messages you send to us or to other users through the Service, and support requests.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, searches run, listings viewed, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy for details.
Information from third parties:
- We may receive information from service providers, such as analytics and payment processors, and from Employers or Job Seekers about their interactions with you through the Service.
2. Categories of Personal Information (State Privacy Disclosures)
The table below lists the statutory categories of personal information we may collect, examples of each, and the categories of recipients with whom we may disclose it for a business purpose. We collect this information from the sources described in Section 1 and use it for the purposes described in Section 3.

Sensitive personal information. Some information you provide, such as the contents of a resume or application, may include information that certain state laws treat as sensitive. We collect and use this information only to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, and we do not use or disclose it to infer characteristics about you. Where applicable law gives you a right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, you may exercise it by contacting privacy@equiassist.com.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage accounts and provide the Service;
- display listings, route applications, and enable communication between Employers and Job Seekers;
- process payments and prevent fraud;
- personalize content and improve and develop the Service;
- communicate with you about your account, transactions, security, and, where permitted, marketing;
- maintain safety, enforce our Terms of Use, and protect our rights and those of our users; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information as follows:
- Between users. When you apply to a listing, your application and profile information are shared with the relevant Employer. When you post a listing, its contents are visible to Job Seekers and the public.
- Service providers. With vendors who perform services for us, including hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery, and customer support, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Advertising partners. With advertising and analytics platforms, including Google and Meta, that help us measure and deliver advertising. See the Cookie Policy and Section 6 below regarding your choices.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of EquiAssist, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred to the successor.
- With your consent. In other cases at your direction or with your consent.
Note on data shared between users: once your application or profile is shared with an Employer, or your listing is shared with the public, EquiAssist does not control how the recipient uses it. Employers are responsible for handling applicant data in accordance with applicable law and our Terms.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, analyze usage, and support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser and, where offered, through our cookie controls. See the Cookie Policy for details, including the specific providers we use.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update. You can review and update most account information in your settings.
- Marketing. You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link. We may still send service related messages.
- Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us, subject to legal retention obligations.
State privacy rights. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under your state’s consumer privacy law to know about, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising; and to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@equiassist.com. We will verify your request as required by law, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
Do Not Sell or Share. We do not sell personal information for money. Some of our cookie based advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or “targeted advertising,” under certain state laws. You can opt out using the cookie controls described in the Cookie Policy or by broadcasting an opt out preference signal as described below.
Opt out preference signals (Global Privacy Control). Some browsers and extensions let you broadcast an opt out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by law, we treat a recognized signal as a request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser or device.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which we delete or de identify it. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why we hold it.
8. Where We Process Information
We are based in the United States and process personal information in the United States. The Service is not directed to individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Third Party Sites
The Service may link to third party sites and services that have their own privacy practices, for which we are not responsible. Review their policies before providing information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the Effective Date, and we will provide additional notice where required by law.
