About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Riding Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys teaching riders of varying ages and skill levels and can provide safe, effective instruction in a positive and professional environment.
We are looking for someone with strong horsemanship skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to help riders build confidence and progress toward their individual goals.
Responsibilities
- Teach private, semi-private, and group riding lessons
- Instruct riders from beginner through advanced levels based on experience
- Develop lessons appropriate for each rider’s abilities and goals
- Teach proper riding technique, horsemanship, and safe horse handling
- Match riders with appropriate lesson horses
- Evaluate rider progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Help riders set and work toward achievable riding goals
- Assist students with preparing horses before and after lessons when needed
- Monitor lesson horses and communicate any concerns
- Communicate professionally with riders, parents, and clients
- Maintain a safe and organized lesson environment
- Assist with clinics, camps, horse shows, and other riding program activities as needed
Qualifications
- Previous riding instruction experience
- Strong riding and horsemanship skills
- Ability to teach riders with different experience levels and learning styles
- Thorough understanding of riding and barn safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, dependable, and professional
- Comfortable teaching both children and adults
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
