About the Position
We are seeking an Assistant Riding Instructor to help with our growing lesson program. This position is a great opportunity for someone with a strong riding and horsemanship background who enjoys working with students and would like to continue developing their skills as an instructor.
The Assistant Riding Instructor will work alongside our instructors while also teaching lessons independently based on experience and ability.
Responsibilities
- Assist with private, semi-private, and group riding lessons
- Teach beginner and intermediate lessons as assigned
- Help riders learn proper riding fundamentals and safe horse handling
- Assist students with grooming, tacking, and preparing horses for lessons
- Help match lesson horses with riders based on experience and ability
- Reinforce instruction and provide additional guidance to students during lessons
- Help riders develop confidence, balance, and control
- Assist with evaluating student progress
- Monitor lesson horses and report any concerns
- Help keep tack and lesson equipment clean and organized
- Assist with riding camps, clinics, and other lesson program activities
- Step in for lessons when the primary instructor is unavailable
