We are looking for an Assistant Riding Instructor to join our lesson program and work with riders of varying ages and experience levels. This position is well suited for someone who has a solid foundation in riding and horsemanship and is ready to gain more experience teaching and working with students.
The Assistant Riding Instructor will support the lesson program, teach students based on their experience level, and work closely with the lead instructor to provide consistent instruction throughout the program.
Responsibilities
- Teach beginner riding lessons and assist with more advanced lessons
- Work with students individually and in group settings
- Teach basic riding skills, position, balance, and control
- Instruct students on grooming, tacking, and safe horse handling
- Help riders become more confident and independent around horses
- Assist with selecting suitable lesson horses for students
- Prepare horses and equipment for scheduled lessons
- Help maintain an organized lesson schedule
- Monitor riders during lessons and provide additional instruction when needed
- Help evaluate rider progress and identify areas for improvement
- Exercise lesson horses when needed
- Assist with camps, clinics, and special events
- Help prepare students for horse shows when applicable
